Forklift and picker, same aisle

Logistics OperatorLOGISTICS · 12,000 M² WAREHOUSE · THREE SHIFTS
PROBLEM

Forklifts and pickers on foot shared the same aisles. Near misses never made it into the record; a report only existed once an actual accident had happened, and shift supervisors learned about risk exactly as far as their staff chose to tell them.

APPROACH

The existing security cameras were connected to a vision model that recognises people and vehicles. The system detects the moment the safe distance between a pedestrian and a forklift is breached and alerts the floor supervisor within seconds.

RESULTS
A breach reaches the supervisor as an alert in under three seconds.
Twenty-four aisles are monitored live.
The same safety rules hold across all three shifts without a break.
