Hears the fault before any ear

Manufacturing Plant, Maintenance TeamMANUFACTURING · EDGE AI · ACOUSTIC ANOMALY DETECTION
PROBLEM

Mechanical wear in the motors, bearings and compressors on a production line usually announces itself first as a shift in sound frequencies. In the traditional setup, catching those shifts depended entirely on what an experienced technician happened to hear while walking past the machine. In a high-noise plant, leaving maintenance planning to the human ear and shift luck led to unpredictable machine stoppages and heavy repair bills.

APPROACH

We turned that sense-driven process into an objective acoustic analysis system running at the machine edge. The AI model we built filters out the plant's ambient noise and focuses only on the mechanical frequency bands of the machine in question. The system learns each machine's healthy operating signature; it measures wear-driven decibel deviations in a bearing the moment they appear, and when the reading crosses the critical threshold it alerts the maintenance team before the fault can bring the machine down.

RESULTS
Machines are listened to and analysed 24/7, independent of shift changes and human fatigue.
Fault diagnosis moved from a technician's intuition to measurable frequency data: decibel and frequency-band deviations, tracked in real time.
Faults become predictable before they damage parts or stop the machine, heading off unplanned downtime.
